Luffy arrives in a town where he meets Roronoa Zoro, a swordsman who is imprisoned for allegedly being a pirate. Zoro has a goal to become the world's greatest swordsman. After Luffy helps him escape, Zoro agrees to join Luffy’s crew, becoming the first member of the Straw Hat Pirates.
